PATRON OF OUR SCHOOL ST. PATRICK

CHARACTER OF THE SCHOOL

It is named after St. Patrick, who is our Patron Saint. Particius Magnotus Sucatus was his name and he was born of British parents about the year 385. At the age of 16 one day during a raid, he was captured and taken to Ireland, where he was sold as a slave. For 6 years from then he was humbled in truth by hunger and nakedness and thus it led him to spend days and nights in prayer kneeling in snow, frost and rain. He managed to escape back to England where he joined the Cathedral of Auxerie and later became the Bishop of Ireland. From then on, he influenced the Christian Faith deeply.

Being a school run by the minority, its primary purpose is to provide a good, all-round education for Catholic children. However, non Catholic children are also admitted. While keeping the Christian character of the institution, the School considers its duty to respect religious beliefs of other pupils.

The School strives to impart a sound liberal education aimed at development of the total personality of the child, and hence due attention is paid to the training of the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social faculties and aesthetic endowments of the pupils various curricular activities are organised to help them to develop in various spheres. Good laboratory and library facilities are also provided.

The academic year begins in June and consists of two Semesters. The first is from June to October and the second from November to April.

Besides English which is the medium of instruction, Marathi is the second language and Hindi is the third language which is important to the student, from Std I.

The School also prepares pupils for the Government Drawing Grade Examination, Middle School and High School scholarship Examination and for Hindi Public Examination.
